Your Edition is a free daily news email. The shorter version of this document: by signing up, you agree to receive the daily issue at the email address you provide; you can leave any time with one click; the publication does its honest best to surface accurate news but doesn't guarantee any particular story or outcome; and there are no fees, paywalls, or hidden obligations.
Who we are
Your Edition is operated by Alex Tikotzky as an independent publication based in the United States. When these terms say "we" it means the operator. You can reach us at hello@youredition.news for anything related to these terms or your subscription.
The service
We send a daily news email curated for the topics and sources you indicated on signup. Stories are selected by an automated pipeline that reads public RSS feeds from established publications, summarizes each piece, and assembles an edition for each subscriber. The summaries are generated by a large language model and reviewed before sending. Links go to the original publishers, never to a tracker.
The service is provided free of charge. There are no premium tiers, no upsells, and no advertising. If that ever changes, you'll get advance notice and the option to opt out.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to subscribe. By signing up, you confirm the email address you provided is yours to use and that you're authorized to receive mail at it. Don't sign up someone else without their permission.
Your account
There is no password. Your email address is the entire account. Every issue carries one-click links to edit your preferences or unsubscribe, both of which authenticate by signed token rather than by login. Keep the issue email itself reasonably private, because anyone who can read it can also click those links.
Acceptable use
Use of the service is subject to a short list of don'ts. You agree not to:
- Sign up email addresses you don't control or have permission to use.
- Scrape, redistribute, or republish the daily issues wholesale. Forwarding an issue to a friend is fine and encouraged.
- Use the unsubscribe, preferences, or feedback endpoints to flood, probe, or interfere with the service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the ranking or extraction pipeline, bypass the security headers, or otherwise compromise the site.
We reserve the right to remove any subscriber whose use violates these terms or whose address triggers repeated bounces or spam complaints. Removal in those cases is not a fee or penalty; it's just account closure.
Content from third parties
The daily issue summarizes and links to articles published by third parties. We do not own those articles, do not control what those publishers say, and don't endorse them by linking. Each summary attributes its source and links to the original. Copyright in the source material belongs to its respective publisher. Our summaries and editorial selections are original work, made available to you for your personal, non-commercial reading.
The summaries are generated and selected by an automated system. They can be wrong. They can miss context. They can misjudge importance. We work hard to keep that rare, but if a story matters to you, please read the original. The links are right there for that reason.

Disclaimer of warranties
Your Edition is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, timely, or accurate, that any particular issue will arrive on any particular schedule, or that any summary or selection is free of mistakes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. Because the service is free, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case the limits apply only to the extent permitted.
Termination
You can end your subscription at any time using the one-click unsubscribe link in any issue footer. We may end your subscription if your address bounces repeatedly, generates spam complaints, or if you violate these terms. On termination, we stop sending and your subscriber record ages out per the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything that meaningfully affects your rights or obligations, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and send a notice to your subscriber email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. You can unsubscribe in response to any change you don't like.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to that jurisdiction. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
